Camden International Film Festival and the Camden Opera House are bringing back the popular monthly series CIFF Selects to Camden one Thursday each month (except for one Wednesday in July) through August – March 17, April 14, May 19, June 16, Wednesday July 20 and August 18.

To kick off the series, which will launch Wednesday, March 17 at 7 PM, CIFF Selects brings Academy Award-winning director Michael Moore’s latest film, WHERE TO INVADE NEXT to Camden. Just in time for election season, America’s favorite political provocateur is back with this provocative and hilarious comedy in which Moore will stop at nothing to figure out how to actually make America great again.

Honored by festivals and critics alike, WHERE TO INVADE NEXT is an expansive, hilarious, and subversive comedy in which the prolific director confronts the most pressing issues facing America today and finds solutions in the most unlikely places. The creator of FAHRENHEIT 9/11 and BOWLING FOR COLUMBINE has returned with an epic movie that’s unlike anything he has done before—an eye-opening call to arms to capture the American Dream and restore it in, of all places, America.

“We’re thrilled to once again work with the Camden Opera House and the Town of Camden to bring great documentary films year-round to our local audience.. Last years CIFF Selects program was a great success, and we’re excited about sharing this brand new slate of films with our growing audiences. Community engagement is at the heart of our organization, and we couldn’t think of a more timely or exciting movie than Michael Moore’s WHERE TO INVADE NEXT to kick off this popular series,” said CIFF’s Founder/Executive Director Ben Fowlie. “We’re looking forward to stirring conversation following the screening.”

“The town of Camden and the Camden Opera House are so pleased that we could support and encourage the growth of the annual Film Festival, and now for the second year to partner with CIFF Selects, which expands the annual festival to offer cultural enrichment and stunning documentaries on virtually a year round basis,” added Kerry Hadley of the Camden Opera House.

Popular titles that garnered record-breaking attendance for the CIFF Selects series in 2015 included Oscar-nominated titles AMY and CARTEL LAND, CIFF 2014 Audience Winner Maine-made WILD HOME, a special screening of PLANETARY on Earth Day.

Additional CIFF Selects titles will be announced in the coming months. The screenings are held on the third Thursday each month, except for April which will fall on the second Thursday of the month, and in July when the screening will take place on the third Wednesday of the month. Upcoming screenings dates include  April 14, May 19, June 16, July 20 and August 18. Q&As with filmmakers, either in person or via skype, will follow select screenings. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased on the day of show at the Camden Opera House box office.
