The 13th annual Camden International Film Festival will take place in Camden, Rockport and Rockland, Maine, from September 14 to 17. Considered among the top film festivals for documentaries in the world, this year the Camden International Film Festival (CIFF) continues to highlight innovative work that shows a deep commitment to the craft of nonfiction storytelling. The 2017 festival will showcase over 80 documentary features and shorts from around the globe. The weekend will feature documentary films from both emerging and established filmmakers, most of whom attend their screenings. This year’s program, listing films, filmmakers, high-profile industry attendees and speakers, will be announced in mid-August.

“This year’s festival will continue to showcase some of the most engaging documentary films from some of the most creative and distinctive voices in the form,” says Ben Fowlie, Founder and Executive Director of the Points North Institute. “With over 70 films screened, and more than 100 filmmakers and industry leaders attending from around the world, the festival will be a unique opportunity to engage with the documentary community and the documentary form in an intimate, inclusive setting.”

CIFF’s Points North Forum offers unique opportunities for professional development and creative inspiration – for filmmakers and filmgoers alike. CIFF passholders can attend hands-on workshops, panel discussions, and masterclasses, meet top filmmakers and industry leaders, and get a glimpse into the process of producing documentaries at the popular Points North Pitch.
