Points North

The Camden International Film Festival and Points North Forum take place in a number of beautiful and unique venues throughout Camden, Rockport and Rockland. Venues include restored turn-of-the-century opera houses, world-renowned art museums and one of the most spectacular art house theatres in the country. Learn more about each venue and location below.

500-seat exquisitely restored Victoria-era Opera House in the heart of downtown Camden. The home of the Points North Forum and our Opening and Closing Night screenings, as well as additional screenings throughout the festival weekend.

300-seat historic opera house built in 1891. The anchor of Rockport Village.

350-seat historic cinema in downtown Rockland built in 1923 and lovingly restored in 2005.

Celebrating Maine’s Role in American Art, the Farnsworth Art Museum offers a nationally recognized collection of works from many of America’s greatest artists. The museum has one of  the nation’s largest collections of works by sculptor Louise Nevelson. It’s Wyeth Center features works of Andrew, N.C. and Jamie Wyeth.

It makes sense to have a car when attending CIFF, though we do have taxis!

Maine is just off the grid enough to not have Uber. So, if you’re not coming with a car, make sure you’ve got Schooner Bay’s number handy: (207) 594-5000.

If you need a taxi from the airport, book Midcoast Limo in advance. Their phone # is (207) 236-2424.

If you’re looking to see more of the region, or just wanting a more accommodating vehicle for your time here, consider a rental from Budget or Enterprise. Both are located just outside Rockland city limits.

Camden, Rockport and Rockland are small towns. We don’t have parking garages here so make sure you allow enough time before the screenings to park! There are several parking lots within walking distance of CIFF venues, as well as ample on-street parking throughout downtown.
