Diane Weyermann Memorial Fund
Diane Weyermann made an extraordinary impact on the world of documentary filmmaking. Her work with the Open Society Institute, Sundance Institute, and Participant profoundly shaped the landscape of nonfiction. After her passing in October of 2021, and in partnership with the Skoll Foundation and Participant, Points North established the Diane Weyermann Memorial Fund to honor her legacy. The Fund will underwrite the Diane Weyermann Fellowship at Points North to support emerging, innovative, and creative documentary filmmakers across the globe telling stories of moral and ethical urgency, a mission that Diane fervently believed in. Points North is working with a group of advisors and close friends and family of Diane’s to endow the Fund and develop the Diane Weyermann Fellowship that will combine creative nurturing with practical support in the strategic and tactical elements of the business of documentary filmmaking.
If you would like to support this program, donations can be made to the Points North Institute. Gifts will be restricted to ensure that Diane’s life’s work endures for years to come.
