“I hope Maine realizes that this is a jewel in the crown of this great state
and we should support it with everything we’ve got and make sure it keeps its soul.”

Points North Institute Establishment Campaign
The establishment of the Points North Institute represents the next chapter in the growth and evolution of the Camden International Film Festival.
Over the next three years, we will build a new foundation of year-round programs dedicated to inspiring, nurturing and celebrating creative nonfiction storytellers while strengthening Maine communities through innovative and impactful documentary film and media art.
We are aiming to raise an additional $1 million above current annual operating expenses by December 31, 2018. Thanks to a generous lead donor, the first $250,000 in gifts will be matched dollar for dollar.
These funds will allow us to:
- Expand our operational capacity, growing from a year-round staff of one person to four.
- Enhance the Camden International Film Festival and Points North Forum, building further on their past success.
- Deepen our investments in the field of creative nonfiction film and media through fellowships, retreats, residencies and other programs supporting the next generation of storytellers.
- Enrich the cultural landscape across Maine through community partnerships and a robust year-round calendar of screenings and special events.
