The Camden International Film Festival is now accepting submissions for the 2011 Points North Pitch!  One of the most exciting events of last years festival will return as part of the 2011 Points North Documentary Forum.  If you’re working on a documentary film and are looking to get that special chance to share it with fellow filmmakers and industry leaders, this is your opportunity!  We’ll give you 10 minutes to share your work and pitch your project for funding, broadcast or distribution!

Interested filmmakers who want to share their project with key industry decision makers can fill out an online form submit a trailer or clip of no more than five minutes in length by August 31. The festival will choose several finalists to present their work-in-progress films to visiting industry delegates on October 1, 2011.  Past panelists have included representatives from HBO, the BBC, ITVS, PBS, the Sundance Institute, the Tribeca Institute, American Public Television, the Sundance Channel, Cinereach, Chicken and Egg and the LEF Foundation.  One winner will receive a $1,000 cash prize sponsored by Boston’s Documentary Educational Resources.  All selected pitch finalists will receive a VIP pass to the 2011 Camden International Film Festival as well as a pitch training session with several of the attending industry.

The pitch competition is open to all New England based non-fiction films in development. All genres and subject matter will be considered.  The submission fee is $25.

Now in its third year, the Points North Documentary Forum has become New England’s largest gathering of independent nonfiction filmmakers and key industry decision makers. Created out of the need for more professional development opportunities for the region’s filmmakers, Points North connects film and media artists to broadcasters, distributors, granting organizations, festival programmers and independent executive producers during a two-day program of intimate panels, workshops, case studies and networking event.
