DROUGHT

ABOUT

DROUGHT is an impressionistic portrait of the Cuates de Australia, a communally-owned land in northeastern Mexico, where desert cowboys face death every year avoiding the drought that threatens the ranch. As the the last water source dries up and the cattle become increasingly weak, desert animals start to take over the place. The film captures the passing of seasons and understated moments that make up the everyday lives of residents, whose whole existence hovers on the brink of exodus.
