Jean-Jacques Martinod is a filmmaker, multimedia artist, curator and radio DJ. His works study locales as deterritorialized landscapes in a practice that considers the interrelations inherent in fluctuating psychic geographies and expanded human experience. Utilizing certain traditions within documentary practice and experimental cinema, his works endeavor to interrogate sensory cognition in relation to the natural world and potential mythopoetic structures. Martinod's work has been showcased in leading festivals, museums and cinematheques, including International Film Festival Rotterdam, FIDMarseille, Sheffield Doc/Fest, Mar del Plata, PHI Centre Montreal, Cinemateca do MAM Rio de Janeiro, The Museum of the Moving Image and the European Media Arts Festival.
