In the 80s, American-born Louis Sarno traveled to the Central American rainforest to record the music of Bayaka pygmies. Instead of coming back to the States, he became a member of their tribe, got married and had a son. SONG FROM THE FOREST is a modern epic in which the shared journey of father and son back to Sarno’s New York steers towards a surprising reversal of roles and shows us that the African rainforest and urban America are not all that separate after all.
