Reas

7:30pm THURSDAY 9.12, Strand Theatre

ABOUT

Performance artist Lola Arias collaborates with former inmates of Argentina's Ezeiza women's prison to create a captivating musical docufiction unlike any other you’ve seen. "Reas" features a diverse cast—cis, trans, immigrants, and more—who reenact their experiences through joyful songs and dances, unafraid to embrace kitsch. Rather than dwelling on hardships, the film explores dreams, aspirations, and resilience. It showcases how art and imagination transform confined spaces into sites of possibility whilst also acutely critiquing incarceration practices.
