Roundware: Rockland Sean Flynn
Roundware:Rockland is a location-based “augmented reality” installation that invites you to experience downtown Rockland by listening to the voices of those who have come before you. As you wander the streets, you’ll hear both oral histories from longtime residents and stories left behind by previous participants, all underscored by a musical composition that changes based on where you are standing. Anyone with an iPhone can listen to this constantly-evolving soundscape and contribute their own voices by downloading Roundware:Rockland in the App Store. Wearing headphones is strongly encouraged!
Launching at CIFF and continuing throughout the year, Roundware:Rockland is a partnership with Steel House, Center for Maine Contemporary Art, and Stories to Tell.
Creator Halsey Burgund will be giving an artist talk at CMCA Art Lab on Saturday, September 17, 3:30pm-5pm.
