Points North Campus is an educational initiative that provides university and high school students the opportunity to participate in discussions about the craft and business of documentary film and media, connecting them directly with filmmakers and industry professionals during the annual Camden International Film Festival.
The Points North Campus provides a unique experience for students to understand the evolving independent film and media landscape and discover the various career paths to follow after graduation. All participating students will be invited to a seminar-style session based on elements of the festival’s film program to ensure maximum impact for participating students and craft a discussion targeted to them.
The program builds on long-standing partnerships with Maine colleges and universities which offer specific courses in conjunction with the festival. Since 2016, we have expanded our Points North Campus program to include additional students from Emerson College, School of Visual Arts, Bates College, and Northwestern University. Our goal is to create a mini-campus environment within our festival setting for students to interact with the 100+ filmmakers and industry delegates visiting during the Camden International Film Festival and Points North Forum.
