How to Fest FAQ!
How accessible is the fest?
CIFF takes place in multiple venues throughout the Midcoast which include workingĀ boatyards, temporary multipurpose spaces, and restored turn-of-the-century opera houses, churches, and art house theatres. These locations are rich in unique architectural charm but not all of them are ADA accessible.Ā
Our two main screening venues, Camden Opera House and Strand Theatre, have accessible entrances, restrooms, and elevators. The YETI Lounge and Journeyās End Marina, the locations of the majority of our receptions and parties, have accessible entrances and portable accessible restrooms. The entrance to our Hub space has two small steps. There is a portable ramp available and a doorbell outside for anyone who needs help with the door.
More information about each 2026 venue and its accessibility information will be available on the Accessibility page soon!
Film program accessibility options are also available. Personal closed captioning devices and assistive listening devices are available upon request at all screening venues. Devices transmit dialogue and audio descriptions to a small, easy-to-read personal screen which attaches to your seat. Closed captioning and audio description availability is subject to the content made available by filmmakers. This year, we will also provide ASL interpretation at select post-screening Q&As and events.
For additional information or to request accommodations, please contact us at [email protected] or (207) 615-4236.
What are the ways to get around during the Festival?Ā
We recommend attending CIFF with a car āĀ taxiās are rare and ride share options likeĀ Uber and Lyft are not active in Midcoast.Ā
CIFF does offer a free Festival Shuttle, operational between Rockland and Camden, withĀ times structured around the film schedule and our late night, After Dark parties. Unfortunately, the Festival Shuttle is not ADA accessible. The 2026 Shuttle Schedule will be available early September on the Shuttle page.Ā Ā
