Camden International Film Festival and the Camden Opera House bring HOW TO LET GO OF THE WORLD AND LOVE ALL THE THINGS CLIMATE CAN’T CHANGE from Josh Fox (Oscar-nominated director of GASLAND) to the COH on Thursday, April 14 at 7 pm as the next installment of the popular series CIFF Selects.

HOW TO LET GO OF THE WORLD AND LOVE ALL THE THINGS CLIMATE CAN’T CHANGE screens in honor of Earth Day and as part of Sustainable Maine series – CIFF’s program connecting Maine-based environmental leaders and allies with powerful documentary films that spark public dialogue and responsive, local actions to address the intersecting environmental challenges (and opportunities) related to climate change, ocean and land conservation, sustainable agriculture and renewable energy.

Josh Fox’s climate documentary (Sundance Film Festival 2016) continues in his deeply personal style, investigating climate change – the greatest threat our world has ever known.

Traveling to 12 countries on 6 continents, the film acknowledges that it may be too late to stop some of the worst consequences and asks, what is it that climate change can’t destroy? What is so deep within us that no calamity can take it away? Fox is screening his documentary in only 100 towns and cities in the US, now adding Camden to this tour.

“We’re thrilled to bring Josh’s latest documentary to Camden for April’s CIFF Selects. His work, as always, should spark a great conversation around climate change” said CIFF’sFounder/Executive Director Ben Fowlie. “Michael Moore’s provocative WHERE TO INVADE NEXT brought a house of nearly 150 to the Camden Opera House and we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate Earth Day than with HOW TO LET GO OF THE WORLD” added Kerry Hadley of the Camden Opera House.

Additional CIFF Selects titles will be announced in the coming months. The screenings are held on the third Thursday each month, except for April which will fall on the second Thursday of the month, and in July when the screening will take place on the third Wednesday of the month.

Upcoming screenings dates include April 14, May 19, June 16, July 20 and August 18. Q&As with filmmakers, either in person or via skype, will follow select screenings. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased on the day of show at the Camden Opera House box office.
