Matthew Stoneman dreamed of pop stardom. Instead, he went to jail, learned Spanish, and emerged as “Mateo,” a caucasian bolero singer. Mateo is on the brink of completing an album of original songs in Havana. But his estrangement from loved ones, his criminal past, and his love for Cuban women could derail him on his quest for fame.

Aaron Naar is a lead Editor and Director at Editree Inc., a boutique post-production company located in Los Angeles. A Film Independent and IFP Documentary Lab alumnus and a recipient of the Pacific Pioneer Fund, Naar has participated in Independent Film Week and Spotlight on Documentaries, the Film Independent Forum, and Points North Pitch. His feature directorial, "Mateo," was nominated for the Grand Jury Award at the 2014 South by Southwest Film Festival. Over the past several years, Naar has spent most of his time editing. In 2016, his editorial work won an Emmy for Outstanding Short Format Nonfiction Series for Inside Look: The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story. Also in 2016, "I'll Sleep When I'm Dead: The Steve Aoki Story" was nominated for a Grammy for Best Music Film. Most recently, he has cut on the FX doc series "Outlaw: The Saga of Afeni and Tupac Shakur" the Apple TV+ doc series "Home".
