Peak

ABOUT

Each year, hundreds of thousands of tourists flock to the white winter paradise of the Alps. But climate change and the resulting snow loss now require the widespread use of technology to recreate a perfect Alpine landscape. Excavators rip up the earth, a computer-operated switch room lies deep in the mountain, towers are erected, pipes and cables are laid in the ground, and snow machines continuously spray onto the slopes. PEAK delves beneath the region’s natural beauty to reveal a complex production process usually hidden from the tourists’ view beneath a thick blanket of artificial snow.
