Intimate glimpses of one very special day in the lives of high-school seniors from an industrial corner of the Florida Everglades: prom’s over, the future is uncertain, and the irresistible pull of the beach makes the long-time friends take a "Skip Day", drive 90 kilometres to chill, pose and revel in the waves.
Patrick is a visual artist and filmmaker. He received his formal education working for notable Mission School artists Clare Rojas and Barry McGee (TWIST). He co-directed THE SEND-OFF which premiered at Sundance '16 and received awards at SXSW, SFIFF and AFI FEST. He directed THE RABBIT HUNT which premiered in the US at Sundance '17 and in Europe at the Berlinale. The film has won 20 awards including the Cinema Eye Honor. In 2017, his short film ROADSIDE ATTRACTION co-directed with Ivete Lucas premiered in competition at TIFF. SKIP DAY, which he co-directed, premiered at Cannes and was awarded best short film. He co-directed, shot and produced PAHOKEE with premiered in the documentary Competition at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival. Patrick holds a masters degree in Sustainability from the University of Texas School of Architecture.
