Ike White was a musical prodigy who recorded a funk and soul classic album inside a Californian prison in 1974. Then he disappeared. 30 years later, director Dan Vernon tracked him down, only to find a trail of wives, lives and false identities that leave as many questions as answers.

With the help of a BAFTA scholarship Daniel attended the National Film and Television School, he graduated in 2005 with a Distinction. His student film 'Fountain of Youth’ picked up the 'Best Short Film' award at several festivals, including Hamptons International Film Festival. In 2007, the BBC commissioned Daniel’s first film, 'The Man Who Eats Badgers', which he produced, directed and filmed himself. He won the BAFTA award for Break-through Talent in 2008 and since then he's been commissioned to make films for the BBC, Channel 4 and Netflix. His last BBC series ‘The Detectives - Murder on the Streets’ won an RTS award and was nominated for a BAFTA. ‘The Changin’ Times of Ike White’ is Daniel’s first feature length documentary which was screened at many international film festivals including DOC NYC, The Camden Film Festival and the San Francisco Festival, to name a few. ​ Daniel is currently directing a feature documentary for Netflix.
