The Last Year of Darkness
ABOUT
The beat doesn’t stop when the sun rises over Chengdu China in this neo-tropic energy infused film. While the tapestry of the contemporary youth scene delves deep into questions of personal identity, queerness, or hedonism, a city in constant construction fuels the misty scenery. With an astonishing soundtrack, The Last Year of Darkness takes audiences on a rollercoaster of emotions. A bass-infused score, dynamic dialogues rich with subtext, and the cacophonous urban landscape all play with the foreground and background of a place in construction. Drugs, alcohol, and strobe lights dancing for dreamy lovers and an inquisitive youth.
