THE LIST is a modern-day Schindler’s List story focusing on Kirk Johnson, an American fighting to save thousands of Iraqis whose lives are in danger because they helped the U.S. rebuild Iraq. After returning home from leading reconstruction teams in Iraq, Kirk discovers that his former Iraqi colleagues are being killed, kidnapped or forced into exile by radical militias. Angered by the U.S. government’s failure to protect their ‘Iraqi allies,' he compiles a list of names and helps them find refuge in America. The film follows four years of his unlikely mission, but with thousands still on the list, he is left to confront the limitations of humanitarian action. How many can he save? Where does his commitment end? When can he leave the war behind?
