In the middle of the Nevada desert lays the entertainment capital of the world. At the peak of the economic crisis, three residents of Las Vegas struggle to make their American dream come true. Working as a peculiar portrait of the city, this film reveals a surreal, tragicomic reality hidden behind the shiny neon lights. The reality that a tourist would never see.
Lukasz’s documentaries have played at festivals, such as Hot Docs, Camerimage, Visions du Reel and SXSW. His film ‘After’ won the CILECT Best Documentary film award, which is chosen by the association of the world’s major film and television schools. His first feature 'Theatre of Violence' (co-directed with Emil Langballe) premiered at CPH DOX in March 2023 followed by screenings at festivals around the world, such as Hot Docs, Visions du Reel, Docaviv. It won Grand Jury Award at Movies that Matter, VIKTOR for the Best Documentary at DOK.fest Munich, Best International Feature Award 2nd Prize at South Africa's Encounters and Best Cinematography Award at Millennium Docs Against Gravity. He is currently working as a cinematographer and a co-producer of Tomer Heymann’s new feature doc, 'Issa’s House'.
