Vanessa Carr is a documentary cinematographer specializing in character-driven cinema vérité. Her work has streamed on every major platform and screened at numerous film festivals, including Sundance, SXSW, Tribeca, TIFF, and IDFA. Vanessa's long list of credits includes "On Pointe" (Disney+), "Free Money" (Netflix), and "Heroin: Cape Cod" (HBO). Vanessa is a DOC NYC 40 Under 40 honoree (2023) and a co-founder of the Documentary Cinematographers Alliance. She has taught documentary cinematography at Maine Media Workshop and online through the Documentary Cinematography Academy, which she founded in 2023. She holds a master’s degree in journalism from UC Berkeley. "Nomads" is her first feature as a director.

Josh Gleason is a director and producer of documentary film and television. His directing credits include "The Disrupted" (Dok.fest, 2020), distributed by Passion River Films and 8 Above; "True Believer" (Ashland, 2019), which streamed on The Atlantic, and “Finding Your Roots” (PBS), hosted by Henry Louis Gates, Jr. Josh's producing credits include “The Circus” (Showtime), “The Italian Americans” (PBS), and multiple episodes of “American Experience” (PBS). Josh has also reported and produced radio stories for various public radio programs, including “This American Life,” “All Things Considered,” and “Morning Edition.” Josh is a member of the DGA, holds an honors degree in Semiotics from Brown University, and is a graduate of the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies.

Xan Parker is a creative producer who has worked with directors such as Ron Howard, Marshall Curry, Ross Kauffman, Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady, and Albert Maysles. Xan’s recent work includes "The Big Payback," "Of Medicine and Miracles," "Rebuilding Paradise," and "Tigerland." Her work has won awards at Sundance and a duPont-Columbia Award, and has been nominated for Emmys, an Academy Award, an IDA Award, and an Independent Spirit Award.
